Behind the Business
I'm Andrew Jones, a father, husband and a Lowcountry native who has dedicated my life to cultivating the finest, distinctive oysters from the pristine waters of Bird Island since 2019. I have always felt a profound connection to the water and the life it harbors. After 5 years of experience of being just a harvester, my passion and dedication brought the establishment of Bird Island Oyster Company. With the help of my culture lease, I have been able to create a brand known for its salty, unique oysters. Sustainability and the health of my oyster lease is top priority. I've recently expanded my business to not just wild oysters, but to distributing the best caged-oysters the coast has to offer. I believe that oysters are more than just a delicacy; they are an experience, and each one tells a unique story of the waters they come from. I take pride in my product, and I view each oyster as a reflection of nature’s artistry.
